Welcome Letter 2024-25

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Barack Obama Global Prep!!! We are excited to embark on this journey with you and your child, and we look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and achievement.

Study

To support our students' academic growth, we provide tutoring services for all students to have access to additional assistance. These sessions are designed to reinforce classroom learning and help students achieve their academic goals.

Student Leaders

At Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy, all students learn to become scholarly, open-minded, advocates, and resilient. By celebrating & focusing on our welcoming, safe, & student-centered professional learning community and our students becoming prepared to be high school and college graduates capable of competing in today's global economy. We aim to strengthen self-efficacy, literacy, academic achievement, and social responsibility in Obama Global Prep students.

E-Sports team

Esports at Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy.  Students participated and competed at the first ever LAUSD Esports Championship Tournament and reached the quarter finals at the event, to be considered the best 8 middle schools from the whole district.

Eagles Soar

At Obama Global Prep, we have priorities that guide all our decisions:

Preparing Eagles to be successful in college & their future careers.

Developing Eagles to be critical thinkers and effective communicators.

Showing Eagles how to act on their knowledge & become global citizens.

We believe that every student has the potential to achieve greatness, and by fostering an inclusive environment, encouraging diverse perspectives, and cultivating strong communication skills, we can help each child shine in their unique way. Obama Eagles are “Destined for Greatness.”

Uniforms

 
We are pleased to inform you that the school committees at Barack Obama Global Prep have elected to transition into a full-uniform school. This decision aims to promote unity, pride, and professionalism among our students. Beginning this academic year, students will be expected to adhere to the following uniform guidelines:
 
- On Mondays, students are required to wear white button-down shirts.
- From Tuesday to Thursday, students should wear grade-level polos.
- On Fridays, students are encouraged to show their Eagle spirit by wearing Eagle Spirit wear.
 
In addition, all students must wear black bottoms and black shoes as part of their uniform. To assist you in purchasing the uniforms, we have provided a convenient online link where you can browse and select the appropriate attire for your child. We believe implementing a uniform policy will foster a positive and focused learning environment while instilling in our students a sense of belonging and pride. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your child comes to school dressed in the prescribed uniform.
